Changes in work have been great in the central area in the last few years. More changes are ahead. It is important to monitor the number and percentage of working people and compare to other places as well as monitor information on unemployment.
Data on the number of working people and number and percentage of unemployed people will be published in this index. Individuals included are people aged 18-69.
Information on employed people are published yearly but information on unemployed people twice per year, in January and July.
Data from the whole of Iceland, the central, eastern and western area will be compared.
The project manager is responsible for acquiring the data and publishing it according to the publishing schedule.
Data will be collected from Statistics Iceland and Directorate of Labour.
